Nancy Tupper Ling

Nancy Tupper Ling is a children’s author, poet, and librarian. She has great fun teaching poetry to grade school children, high school students, fellow poets, and senior citizens. Her picture books include Double Happiness (Chronicle Books), My Sister, Alicia May (Pleasant St. Press), The Story I’ll Tell (Lee & Low Publishers), The Yin-Yang Sisters and the Dragon Frightful (Penguin Young Readers), and For Every Little Thing: Poems and Prayers to Celebrate the Day (Eerdmans Books for Young Readers), coauthored with June Cotner. The latter was a Junior Library Guild Gold Selection, highlighted/featured in The Wall Street Journal, and received an Honorable Mention for Children’s Books of the Year from World Magazine.

Her books received starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly. Other honors include the Writer’s Digest Grand Prize, the Pat Parnell Poetry Award, Massachusetts Book Award, Must Read, Delaware Diamond Award, Northern Lights Book Awards, and Julia Ward Howe, Honorable Mention.

As a librarian, Nancy is a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Public Library Association (PLA). She has been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) since 2005. She serves on the board of the Boston Authors Club and the Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCBD)/Read Your World association, and has appeared on a variety of KidLit discussion panels and interviews on social media.
